Chem-Dry Makes Franchise Gator 2016 Top 100 Franchises List
Annual ranking points out Chem-Dry’s low entry costs alongside strong support and growing service lines as solid foundation for business growth
Smart entrepreneurs looking at franchise options love to look at rankings, because they usually offer an unfiltered examination of a concept’s pros and cons. In the case of the Chem-Dry cleaning franchise opportunity, it’s all pros — at least where Franchise Gator is concerned.
For the third year in a row, Chem-Dry has made the Franchise Gator Top 100 Franchises list, claiming the 67th spot for 2016.
“We never get tired of this kind of recognition,” says Dan Tarantin, President and CEO. “We can talk about our differentiators in the home and business carpet- and surface-cleaning space all day long, but when a third party with a lot of institutional knowledge about franchising makes a recommendation, it’s very meaningful.”
Low entry costs, growing services lines are pluses
In its ranking, Franchise Gator pointed out many of the Chem-Dry cleaning franchise values. Chief among them are the various points of entry, which means that entrepreneurs can customize the size of their business from the very beginning. A growing service line that now includes Granite Countertop Renewal is also a strong positive, since it shows a company that wants to expand its horizons.
“Chem-Dry routinely gets tapped for this kind of recognition because we are a company on the move,” Dan says. “We are expanding across the United States into new territories, as well as growing in the areas we already serve, because demand is so high. We also have a robust international presence. We’re the largest carpet cleaning franchise in the world, with nearly 3,500 locations that serve 10,000 homes a day. Nobody else can touch those numbers, and we’re only going to keep growing.”
Ongoing support and referrals also key
Another major plus for Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners comes by way of strong corporate support. That means everything from best-in-class marketing materials and training to commercial referrals that let owners grow their business outside the residential realm.
“We have a corporate team that actively works to win business from large players in the
office, hotel, retail and hospital markets,” Dan explains. “And then we hand those off to our franchise owners to work. Many franchise concepts are there when the business is getting started, and then they fade away. We stay very engaged with all our owners, wherever they are, so we can help them to grow. It’s why Chem-Dry is a success today, and it’s why organizations like Franchise Gator think we’ll be a success in the future.”
