2017 Nashville Convention to Include Chem-Dry and N-Hance Owners
First-ever joint event will introduce brands and explore strategies for complementary business growth and partnerships.
When Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners flock to Nashville in early 2017 for their annual convention, they’ll see some new faces in the crowd: N-Hance wood renewal franchise owners. The two have had separate conventions until now, but the opportunities for cross-pollination are so great that a joint meeting is an idea whose time has come.
“Because we’re bringing the convention home to Nashville, where we’re based, we thought it was the perfect time to let the Chem-Dry franchise owners meet their N-Hance counterparts,” says Doug Smith, Senior Vice President of Franchise Development. “Much of the information we’re sharing is beneficial to each of the businesses, so it’s more effective to bring it to everyone at once.”
Sales, marketing are common goals
While each business is different, with Chem-Dry focusing on carpet, upholstery, leather, and tile and stone cleaning, N-Hance focuses on wood cabinet and floor renewal. But cleaning franchise and restoration franchise owners both want to learn how to increase sales and boost the bottom line, so they’ll share many parts of the event.
“We have a lot of great guest speakers at our general sessions, and both brands will come together for that,” Doug says. “And then they’ll break out and attend specific training and other sessions that focus specifically on the sales and services each business provides. Our goal is to make sure that Chem-Dry and N-Hance owners see all the ways they can fit together, and how they can benefit from crossover efforts.”
Front and center will be Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners who also own an N-Hance business, because they can speak effectively on how each side can boost the other, Doug adds.
Co-branding, marketing opportunities
The idea, Doug says, is to have franchise owners meet several times throughout the day and share best practices that have crossover appeal, as well as learn new approaches specific to their own business. That will include co-branding and marketing efforts in some territories, as well as just keeping an eye out for ways to upsell each other’s products and services.
“There is a lot of synergy between Chem-Dry cleaning franchise operations and what N-Hance does,” Doug explains. “We think by having the owners together, they’ll talk about their businesses and see where there is potential to upsell. If someone is cleaning a customer’s carpets and tile floors, and notices that the kitchen cabinets are looking pretty tired, for example, we want to make sure they know who to call on the N-Hance side so they can make a referral.”
