Chem-Dry Franchise Convention Is a High-Energy Affair for Owners

From updates on new products to recognizing the hard work of franchise owners, the annual convention is a one-stop shop for building business success

Ask Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners what they like best about the company, and chances are the annual convention will be high on the list. Why? “The feedback we got from Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners was amazing,” Doug says. “They said it was the highest-energy convention they’d ever been to. I think a lot of that had to do with innovation, especially around how we continue to differentiate ourselves from other companies in the cleaning space.”

For one, Chem-Dry continues to roll out safe, effective and environmentally friendly cleaning products. There are 42 green certified products on the company’s roster now, far more than any other cleaning franchise in the market.

“We know how much consumers want to be ‘green’ when they clean, and so we are going to keep moving in that direction,” Doug says. “Everyone at the convention was really excited that Chem-Dry is investing in the research and development to create and improve these products.”

National marketing plan debuts

On the sales and marketing side, Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners at the convention got an update on an exciting new marketing strategy.

“We’ve never had a national ad fund, so marketing has always been done at the local level,” Doug explains. “In the first quarter of this year, we launched a national digital and radio campaign on behalf of our franchise owners. We’re doing all kinds of marketing around our brand, and also putting out a quarterly ad campaign on XM satellite radio.”

“The goal,” Doug says, “is to further support Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners’ efforts in their communities by layering some national messaging on top.

“We’re creating some brand initiatives and coaching plans that will help them market more effectively in their local markets,” Doug says, “We’re providing all this to franchise owners at no additional charge, because we really want to add to their local advertising and see them get a bump in business.”
