Chem-Dry Scores a Spot on Franchise Gator’s Top 100 List

Repeat ranking underscores brand’s stable and significant value as it adds services and grows in the competitive home and commercial services space

Franchise Gator has released its Top 100 Franchises of 2019, and the Chem-Dry floor cleaning franchise opportunity has once again made its way onto the sought-after ranking.

How the list comes together

The researchers at Franchise Gator take many things into account when compiling their annual ranking. As they point out in this year’s list, “franchising is about risk reduction. … You join a franchise because it provides a heightened chance of success as a business owner.”

As for the list itself, which is compiled with information from hundreds of Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), “The Top 100 has been designed, with the assistance of The Educated Franchisee, to measure the quality of a franchise system over time. Rankings are mostly based on a formula created from various pieces of the FDD that focus on financial stability, growth, transparency, engagement, continuity and sustainability.”

Working outward from the FDDs, Franchise Gator also looked at brands through the lens of those who visit their site to gather information. Investment range and industry, for example, were taken into account.

And while Chem-Dry scored well in Franchise Gator’s unique system, that meant some well-known names might not be present. “If you are looking for some of the more high-ticket, recognizable names in franchising and don’t see them, that by no means is a discredit to that franchise system. It simply means they were not part of our evaluation process,” the site says.
