Chem-Dry Invites Columbus Entrepreneurs To Discover World’s Largest Carpet Cleaner

Ohio event is second in series of gatherings to target growth in high-priority markets

If you live in or near Columbus, Ohio, and you?re interested in a low-cost, high-return franchise business opportunity, some folks are coming to town next week with a proposition for you.

Chem-Dry, the world?s largest carpet cleaning company and the company with the largest single share of the American carpet cleaning market, is hosting a Discovery Day dinner at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, and Thursday, Oct. 18, at McCormick & Schmick?s, 3965 New Bond St.

?This is an exciting chance for us to get to know some entrepreneurs in one of our top target markets, and for folks interested in business ownership to learn about one of the industry?s best values,? says Bill Knight, our vice president of franchise development. ?We?ve started hosting these events in key cities because we want to be really precise with the folks we talk to and communicate with likely franchise buyers, not just cast a wide net.?

With national carpet cleaning sales of $6.8 billion and 14 billion square feet of new carpeting installed every year, demand is growing for our patented, environmentally safe products and processes. Columbus is a prime target for Chem-Dry expansion; it?s one of nine markets we?ve  identified as underserved. The Columbus metropolitan area had 1.9 million people and a $22 million market as of 2011 ? but only two Chem-Dry locations.

During the dinner, members of Chem-Dry?s executive team will pass on information about Chem-Dry?s outstanding franchise opportunity, one of the franchise industry?s best values because of its low cost, growth potential and flexibility. Attendees will learn about how franchises work; why carpet cleaning businesses fare well even in difficult economic times; and why self-employment is a great option in today?s economy.

The event will be the second in a series designed to get Chem-Dry executives face-to-face with likely franchise buyers in target markets east of the Rockies, where the system isn?t as developed as in the West; another Discovery Day is planned for Oklahoma City on Oct. 23 and 24.

We?ve prepared by direct-mailing invitations to Columbus-area residents who fit the demographic profile of likely Chem-Dry owners. Those are generally men between 25 and 40, with experience in home service industries such as plumbing and HVAC installation and repair, and a net worth of roughly $150,000. ?We?re looking for candidates who can leverage their skills and capital to really succeed in our brand,? Bill says.
