Chem-Dry Indian Master Franchise Owner Wins Major Award

Innovative entrepreneur’s laundry business takes international award as he ramps up connecting franchise operations in this huge and growing market

Chem-Dry Master Franchise owner Arunabh Sinha has notched an impressive win for UClean, his premium laundry brand. UClean, India’s first ever organized laundry service, was named Best Emerging Franchise Brand by the Global Franchise Award.

Sinha’s success with UClean, which also provides dry-cleaning services, was a major impetus behind his decision to become a Chem-Dry Master Franchise owner in 2018. He said at the time that he believed he could find synergy between the two businesses, as well as use his existing sub-franchise owner network to rapidly grow Chem-Dry’s presence in India. Master Franchise owners control the Chem-Dry brand in a country or region, operating their own franchise locations and/or bringing other entrepreneurs on board as sub-franchisees.

Indian rollout for brand exceeding expectations

“We have about 60 stores in 21 cities, where customers can do their own laundry, or drop it off,” says Sinha, who also founded Mint Clean, an on-demand cleaning services company with both residential and commercial customers. “We also have an app and websites for online scheduling.”

“We have built a solid base of customers, having serviced close to 20,000 people in the last two years, and our franchise owners were asking about adding carpet and upholstery cleaning so they could generate more business from that loyal customer base,” he adds. “When we researched Chem-Dry, we realized it would be the ideal partner for adding those capabilities.”

Connecting current owners with the Chem-Dry opportunity

Sinha is currently expanding the Chem-Dry brand across India as both a standalone franchise opportunity as well as through the UClean and Mint Clean franchise owner network.
