Chem-Dry Franchise Offers Owners Many Avenues to Shape Their Business
Success in business means profitability, but Chem-Dry franchise owners reap other rewards that help them grow and develop their operations even more
Chem-Dry franchise owners have a lot of great ideas. They want to be heard, and they are — thanks to a company culture that prizes feedback and ongoing education.
Whether it’s through in-person meetings franchise owners have with each other, regular conference calls to their Voice of Chem-Dry representative to seek input on new products or services, or attending the annual convention, owning a Chem-Dry cleaning franchise means having lots of ways to interact with the corporate team.
“We succeed because we are in constant contact with franchise owners, and we learn as much from them as they do from us,” says Doug Smith, Senior Vice President of Franchise Development. “We have many ways to interact with owners every day so that we can all grow together as a company.”
Voice of Chem-Dry provides input
One way that Chem-Dry cleaning franchise owners can interact with the senior management team is through the Voice of Chem-Dry. The entire Chem-Dry network is divided into regions, and each of those has one franchise owner who serves as a central contact for all owners in the area. He or she, along with other regional representatives, meets with the Chem-Dry corporate team at least once a quarter to brainstorm and share information.
“Nobody else has an advisory board like the Voice of Chem-Dry,” Doug says. “They may have a group of owners, but it’s often just for show. We interact constantly with the representatives, because they bring us valid concerns and great ideas from the field. We benefit tremendously from their expertise, because they’re the ones out there all day, every day, talking to customers and seeing what the needs are.”
Multiple training platforms boost business growth
Chem-Dry franchise owners also benefit from a robust training program that starts when they set up franchise operations — and never ends.
“We have built a remarkable library of remote training and webinar opportunities,” Doug says. “We know that busy franchise owners can’t always carve out the time to attend a live training, or do so on a 9-to-5 schedule, so we work to make learning available to them when they have the time to sit down and take advantage of it.”
That said, there’s no shortage of hands-on education and training. Perhaps the biggest of these is the annual convention, where Chem-Dry franchise owners meet and compare notes, see what’s working and why and even have a little fun.
“The convention has a lot of seminars and workshops, where we introduce everything from new products to innovative ideas on sales and marketing,” Doug says. “But it’s also where these owners huddle up in corners and see who’s doing better with granite renewal, or leather restoration, and pick each other’s brains. It’s a learning vacation, sure, but it’s also a lot of fun.”
